Fiber Art Focus: Felting | Dyeing | Spinning | All Fiber Arts Guild Description: The Adobe Wool Arts Guild (AWAG) is primarily devoted to the art of rug hooking and punch needle rug hooking. The guild welcomes rug and fiber artists as members and meets the third Wednesday of most months. Guild members also demonstrate technique and interpret at Albuquerque's BioPark Botanic Garden on the first and fourth Tuesdays of most months. In addition to wool, many members use alternative fibers such as knits, recycled clothing, and ribbon while applying traditional rug hooking techniques. Some participate in other fiber and mixed media, often integrating rug hooking into their pieces. Experimentation and a re-dedication to rug hooking are raising this traditional craft to an art form.
