Fiber Art Focus: Handweaving Guild Description: Garden State Weavers is a NJ guild. The goal is to have 21 weavers, one from each of NJ's 21 counties. Our goal is to celebrate NJ through weaving. Each year one of the members chooses a theme representing their county for a swatch exchange. This is our 4th year and two previous swatch themes have been "George Washington" for Morris County, and "Water" for Monmouth County. We are a small state, but with geographic and historic diversity. Our members have been incredibly creative interpreting these themes in a 6" woven swatch. We are now 15 members and by exhibiting at the NJ Sheep Breeders Fiber Festival each year we hope to find more members to represent our missing counties.. Guild Meeting Location: Zoom for most meetings and Hightstown, NJ for meeting and swatch exchange in summer.
